Blankenships celebrate golden anniversary with family, friends at Gerald KC Hall

Harold and Polly (Hubenthal) Blankenship of rural Owensville celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Saturday, June 15, at the KC Hall in Gerald with friends and family.

The Blankenships were united in marriage June 7, 1969, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Hudson. 

The reception was held in the Exhibit Hall at the Owensville City Park. Their ceremony was officiated by Rev. Joseph Flynn. 

In attendance were Virginia Hubenthal, sister of the bride and maid-of-honor, Russell Blankenship, brother of the groom and best man, attendant Phyllis Blankenship, sister of the groom and groomsman Fred Zelch, attendant Sue Laune, best friend of the bride and groomsman Curtis Blankenship, brother of the groom. Deborah (Hubenthal) Kampschroeder, niece of the bride, was the flower girl, and Patrick Blankenship, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Harold and Polly own a farm south of Owensville. Harold formerly operated an excavating business and farming. Polly was a wedding cake decorator and a secretary and is currently a real estate agent.

The bride is the daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Pauline (Pasley) Hubenthal of Port Hudson and the groom is the son of the late Murrell and Anna (Schmitt) of Japan.

This Blankenship union has been blessed with five sons, Faron Blankenship and wife Lyndia, Travis Blankenship and wife Maria, Joey Blankenship and wife Julie, Tyler Blankenship and wife Kym, and Jerod Blankenship and wife Sammi; and 11 grandchildren.
