Henry Clement Dahms Sr., 96, Rolla, formerly of Leslie, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Silverstone Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Rolla.

He was born Jan. 24, 1922, to Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Friesenberg) Dahms.

He was united in marriage to Mary Anna Millaway, March 2, 1946, at St. Louis.

Henry served with the U.S. Army during World War II receiving a Purple Heart for injuries received in a tank explosion. He also received two bronze stars. He was a member of St. Gerald Catholic Church and the Masonic Lodge and was a past Worshipful Master. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, family get-togethers and spending time camping with the kids. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.

He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Mary; wife, Mary Anna Dahms; and daughter-in-law, Carol Dahms.

He is survived by sons, Henry Dahms Jr. and wife Rose Ann of Salem and Allen Dahms; grandsons, Henry “Skip” Dahms III and wife Darlene of Salem and Vincent Dahms and wife Melissa of Leslie; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Gerald with Fr. Jim Foster as the celebrant. Burial was in Antioch Christian Cemetery at Gerald with full military honors.
