Richard Wayne Wood, 66, Owensville, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1952, to Joseph L. and Sophie J. (Frey) Wood, in Gasconade.
He was united in marriage to Kathleen Kelly, July 21, 1994, at Owensville.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, training his bird dogs and riding horses. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a prison guard in Jefferson City.
He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Sophie; wife, Kathleen; and brothers, Darrell, Jess and Joe Wood.
He is survived by sons, Matthew Wood and wife Connie of Sullivan and Jared Wood of Bourbon; daughters, Rebecca Lanius and husband William of Sullivan and Alicia Wood of Poplar Bluff; brothers, Bill Wood of Linn and Tim Wood and wife Margie of Owensville; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 11, at Countryside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Owensville with full military honors.
