After the 5 p.m., filing deadline for offices in the City of Gerald came and went Tuesday evening, races for Mayor of Gerald and both Ward I and Ward II Alderman posts were set at city hall.

Running for Mayor will be Dan Maxwell, Ed Adams and former Gerald Mayor Otis Schulte (105 Keagan Place). Maxwell was the first to sign up and was followed by Adams last week and Schulte at approximately 3:30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon.

Incumbent Ward I Alderman Howard Haase (374 S. Bernhardt Avenue) will be challenged by Dawn Czeschin (426 S. Main St.) who filed last Friday.

Due to term limits, Adams can not seek another tenure as a Ward II Alderman and will run for Mayor.

Signing up to potentially take his seat on the Board of Aldermen are Keith Wehmeyer (614 Pine Street) and former Gerald Chief of Police Ryan McCrary (215 W. Springfield Avenue).

McCrary will attempt to re-join the Gerald political landscape during the upcoming April municipal election after a long absence.

Making it a three-way race for Ward II Alderman with six minutes before the deadline was former Alderman David Luechtefeld (150 Industrial Drive).
