An Owensville woman suffered minor injuries in a one-car crash Thursday afternoon. Owensville police said Cathy Hinson, 51, lost control of her 2010 Dodge Caliber at 12:25 p.m. while driving west on Highway 28.
According to the police report, the accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 28 west and Route Y when Hinson ran off the right side of the roadway into a ditch, returned to the highway, crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road into the ditch on the south side of 28. Her car then traveled over a curb, crossed through the Frene Valley Healthcare South’s driveway, hit a small tree and then destroyed the facility’s brick sign. Hinson’s car came to rest 290 feet after leaving the roadway. Hinson stated that the steering wheel began to shake violently causing her to lose complete control before driving off the side of the roadway. The next thing she knew, she told police she was “woke up by a paramedic.” She received minor injuries. An airbag did deploy. Owensville ambulance and fire personnel tend to Hinson and her care (top). Cathy Lloyd, owner of Frene Valley Healthcare South, is given an American flag posted on her property which was soiled in the crash.
