Joanne Marie Meier, 68, of Owensville died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Frene Valley Healthcare South in Owensville.
Joanne was born in Washington May 18, 1943 to the late Herbert August and Lean (Schuller) Meier.
She is survived by her friend, Ruth Stephens.
Her body was cremated and no services are planned.

Donna K. Thomas, formerly of Owensville, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012.
She is survived by a son Chris Thomas and wife Julie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at Kutis South County Chapel.

Mary Fisher
Mary Joan Fisher, 79, of Owensville died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Mary was born June 19, 1932 in Kaiser, Mo. to the late Joseph and Mary (Scrivner) Downing. On May 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harry Fisher in Owensville. She was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and belonged to their Women’s Group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Fisher and her brother, Wilbur Downing.
Her survivors include her son, Harry Joseph Fisher of Lake Ozark; daughters, Carol Koepke and husband George of Warrenton, Martha Bunton and husband Ray, Susie Fisher, Mary Adams and husband Stephen and Margie Wood and husband Tim all of Owensville; brother, Basil Downing of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Maryetta Jennings.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 18 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Burial was in the Rosebud Methodist Cemetery in Rosebud.

Carl Miller
Carl John Miller, 86, of Gerald, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Carl was born Aug. 21, 1925 in Gerald to the late Charles and Emma (Idel) Miller. On July 26, 1958, he was united in marriage to Martha Raaf at Port Hudson. He had served his country. He was a member of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; brother, August Miller and sister, Ruth Miller.
His survivors include his son, Otto Miller and wife Nona of Gerald; and grandchildren, Angie Mense and husband Brian of Washington and Jeff Miller and wife Ashley of Gerald.
Memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 10 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Gerald with Fr. Jim Foster officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Veteran’s Memorial of Gerald.
Kenneth Smith
Kenneth E. Smith of St. Louis County died peacefully at home in Mount Sterling at the age of 65 on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Kenneth was the beloved husband of Beverly (Garbs); dearest father of Eric and wife Jeannine and Colin and wife Tammy; dear brother of Barbara Huch and husband Ron, the late Michael and wife Sharol and Dennis; loving grandfather of Jake and Sarah; our dear uncle, cousin and friend.
Arrangements for a wake with family and friends will be made at a later date.
