Seven OHS athletes punch state tickets

ohs_track_307johs_track_307jOZARK — Seeing two school records go down during district track in Jefferson City last weekend, it was only fitting to see two more be broken Saturday at Ozark in one of four Class 3 sectional track meets held throughout the state.
“Everyone did a great job competing today,” OHS head track coach Matt Candrl said. “Even though everyone did not get through (to state), I like our chances to have a number of all-state kids next weekend.”
Trimming six seconds from the old record at districts, Owensville’s Girls 4x800-meter relay team of Emily Ellis, Hailey Diestelkamp, Kayla Charboneau and Hannah Baehr were shooting for a time under 10 minutes over the weekend.

Robertson posts national qualifying mark in javelin

Following All-State accolades in wrestling and all-district honors in track, former Dutchmen athlete Jordan Robertson can add another honor to his list of feats.

“It’s a big difference going from balancing school and sports in high school to college,” 2009 OHS graduate Jordan Robertson said. “Competing in track and going to school for pharmacy are both something I like to do and wouldn’t trade for anything else.”

Currently a fourth-year pharmacy student at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy (STLCOP), the 2009 Owensville High School graduate has made a name for himself in a Eutectic uniform this spring on the track.

OZARK — Wether it was a number of feet, inches or seconds, it was enough to keep a number of Owensville High School track athletes from qualifying for the MSHSAA Track and Field Championships this weekend in Jefferson City.
