A Missouri Department of Transportation plow removes a layer of slush and sleet as a period of heavy snowfall began early Friday afternoon as the temperature had dropped from 32 to 26 degrees from mid-morning to afternoon. Highway 19 at Route ZZ north of U.S. 50 was closed for several hours Saturday as the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle crash which killed a Morrison husband and wife, Gary L. and Julia A. Rost. The Rost’s vehicle landed upside down on 19 after he reportedly failed to stop approaching 19 from Route ZZ. Owensville Fire Department personnel and Gasconade County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the MSHP with the crash scene investigation.
