That was the goal Monday night for Kalyn Kemp’s Owensville Dutchgirl soccer team following a 3-0 loss Friday night to Crocker on senior night.

Welcoming St. James to Dutchmen Field Monday night, OHS looked to snap a three-match losing streak.

Behind three Landry Watson goals in the first 12 minutes of the match, Owensville had more than enough offense before going on to a 7-0 victory.

For Watson, those three goals were merely the beginning of her night.

Entering the match with 41 goals on the season, Watson was four goals away from tying Destinee Busenhart’s single-season record of 45 goals.

Before the end of the half, Watson tied and broke it.

Scoring with 10:53 until halftime, Watson gave the Dutchgirls a 4-0 lead on her 45th goal of the season. Minutes later at the 5:53 mark of the opening half, Watson found the back of the net again giving her the record by herself.

Taking a 5-0 lead into halftime against the Lady Tigers, Owensville was not finished scoring goals in the second half.

Near the midway point of the second half, Kylie Kitchen got in on the goal-scoring frenzy finding the back of the net with 24:22 left in the match for a 6-0 Dutchgirl lead.

With 6:23 remaining, Watson scored her sixth goal of the game and 47th on the season giving OHS their final margin of victory.

Paige Loyd stopped all the shots that came her way for a shutout in goal.

Ending their regular season last night (Tuesday) against Laquey, Owensville Dutchgirl soccer will open the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2, District 4 Girls Soccer Tournament on Monday, May 17 at Mexico High School against Fulton’s Lady Hornets at 4 p.m.

OHS already owns a 2-1 victory over the Lady Hornets from back on April 17 at Dutchmen Field.
