A duty for the next generation

Who is Radical?

The Moderate Republican Party is becoming extinct as conservative members like Liz Cheney are beginning to support Democrats in an effort to save our Democracy.

With over 300 election deniers running for office nationwide, including those vying to become our next U.S. Senator (Eric Schmitt) and 3rd Congressional member (Blaine Leutkemeyer), it is important we take this issue seriously. These people still say they believe that Trump’s 2020 victory was stolen even though Bill Barr (the former attorney general), Kevin McCarthy (former majority leader), and numerous courts and numerous moderate Republicans have crushed this nonsense.

The autocratic wing of the Republican party has said otherwise; yet proudly accept their wins tabulated on the same voting machines where Trump lost badly! If these radicals get into power then there will be trouble ahead because what comes after freedom?

This is not an unimaginable future — they are already putting their plan in place. The GOP plans a national ban on abortion, forcing pregnant women to lose their right to choose. They completely disregard the health of the mother or the trauma of rape and incest.

The Republican candidates on your ballot believe a 13-year-old rape victim should be forced to have a baby. However, they don’t think she is mature enough to read Charlotte’s Web, and banned it from our schools. There are discussions on them ultimately prohibiting birth control.

The GOP proposed budget includes slashing Medicare and Social Security as core tenants, which would include raising the retirement age to 70, ending the Medicare guarantee, and beginning to privatize Social Security.

These changes would have a devastating impact on millions of Americans who rely on these programs for their basic needs in retirement.

One way to stop this insanity and save our democracy is to have the guts to vote for the Democrat in the midterms. Resist voting for the candidate with the (R) behind their name just because that’s what you have always done. Most importantly, don’t vote against your own interests.

If you care about women’s rights, Social Security, Medicare, and freedom, vote “Blue” on November 8th.

We owe it to the next generation.
