Osage County Health Department (OCHD) Administrator Kim Sallin said this week that active cases have dropped to four but two of them involve children under the age of 5, while the total number of cases to date has climbed to 1,697, and another death moves that total to 16.
Sallin continues to offer vaccine clinics, with 31 doses of Moderna administered Friday at the Annex Building with the help of the National Guard. A total of 219 booster doses were given at Quaker that day as well.
This Friday is Truman’s birthday so county offices will be closed, and no clinic will be offered. However, moving forward, Sallin said she plans to continue offering walk-in clinics at the Annex Building every Friday until further notice. All of these will include the Moderna vaccine.
“We haven’t had any requests for Pfizer,” Sallin explained. “Anyone that wants Pfizer can call the office and once we have enough interest, we can get that vaccine.”
Sallin added that she will continue conducting clinics around the county when possible.
The next clinic will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the American Legion - 317 Paul A Hasenbeck in Freeburg.
