Adella Anna Mueller, 102, Hermann, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville.

She was born April 18, 1916, to John Herman and Martha (Brehe) Berger, on the family farm in Gasconade County at Charlotte, near Drake.

She was united in marriage to Edwin L. Mueller, Oct. 25, 1946, at St. James Church at Charlotte.

Adella was baptized and confirmed at St. James Evangelical Church near Drake. She attended the Kiehl School receiving an eighth grade education. She worked as a domestic in St. Louis prior to marriage and at the McQuay Plant there. Later she worked for International Shoe Co. in Hermann.

At age 91 she entered Victorian Manor in Hermann, then Frene Valley Nursing Home in Hermann at age 95, and finally Frene Valley Nursing Home South in Owensville at 98 years of age.

She was preceded in death by husband, Edwin; parents, John and Martha; sisters, Talitha Berger, Vasthi Hilkerbaumer and Flora Thompson; brothers, Gerhardt, Julius, Joel, Amos and a brother in infancy, Berger; sisters-in-law, Ella King, Corene Meier, Stella Cannon, Betty Berger, Lucille Mueller, Anne Berger, Hazel Mueller, Eleanora Gumper, Leona Berger, Bernice Berger and Gladys Tucker; brothers-in-law, Orval Mueller, Raymond Meier, Ralph Cannon, J.B. King, Milfred Hilkerbaumer, William Thompson, Milton Gumper, Louis Thompson and Clif Tucker; and great-grandchild, Anneka Adelia Bohl.

She is survived by daughters, Carol. E. Kallmeyer and husband Stanley of Nampa, Idaho, and Lois Schaeffer and husband Jim of Hermann; brother, Freemont Berger of Owensville; sister-in-law, Janet Mueller of Hermann; and by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with interment at Oak Haven Cemetery, south of Hermann, with Bishop Matt Coleman officiating. Memorial contributions suggested to VFW Post 4182 in Hermann or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
