Agritourism Council to launch a new website

Posted

The Osage County Agritourism Council (OCAC) has announced the coming of a new website. According to University of Missouri (MU) Extension Engagement Specialist Elizabeth Anderson, it will come online Monday, Nov. 1. The address will be www.visitosagecounty.com.

Currently, OCAC has a webpage that has become obsolete. It advertises you-pick farms, wineries, and other agricultural institutions that entertain visitors. The new website will have this and more. Anderson is particularly excited about an improved business and event listing. There will also be driving maps and tour itineraries.

“The new site can function like a mini chamber of commerce or tourism department webpage,” said Anderson, “thus deepening local interest in Osage County and drawing visitors in.”

The new website is being constructed by Angie Tutterrow of By Design Media of Cuba. The project is funded by sponsors. Five significant sponsorships are from Three Rivers Electric Cooperative, Heritage Community Bank, State Technical College, Mid America Bank, and Legends Bank. “Our premier sponsors have been excellent community partners with OCAC and other organizations for years,” said Anderson, emphasizing her gratitude to the sponsors and her enthusiasm for the new website. “I’m honored to play a part in getting the website modernized, but also to recognize our sponsors for their historic contributions to the county.”

After Nov. 1, the old web page will redirect visitors to the new website.
