A special meeting of Gerald’s Board of Alderman was called for last Thursday, April 16.
Ward 2 Aldermen Ed Adams, board president, called the meeting to order with two other aldermen in attendance, Ward 1’s Ruth Haase and Angela Koepke. No department heads were present and Deputy City Clerk Be Ahring took the minutes.
In their second item of business, the aldermen named Ahring as the Interim City Clerk.
Stephanie Lusk, who has served as City Clerk since January, was not present at the meeting. The Republican was told that her last day of work had been the previous day, April 15. No reason was given as to why she is no longer working for the city. A letter of resignation was not presented for the record.
Ahring was instructed to visit both local banks to get her name added as signatory on city accounts.
The aldermen decided not to advertise for applicants for the open position at this time.
Ahring has been employed by the city since late January.
