Trailing 2-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, Tyler Ahring’s Owensville Dutchmen got their bats going to the tune of six runs that were all scored with two outs.

Pitching in relief of starter Jordan Rabbitt, senior Michael Steinbeck pitched the final four innings earning the win during Owensville’s 7-2 come-from-behind victory over Waynesville’s Tigers Thursday afternoon at OHS Field in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, a Derek Brandt walk led to a Gavin Loague RBI double tying the game at 1-1 after one inning.

After Waynesville took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning, offense became scarce for both teams until OHS’ aforementioned bottom of the sixth inning.

Started by a two-out single from Landon Valley, a walk to Eli Wilson and a Logan Evans single loaded the bases for Steinbeck.

Delivering a two-RBI single, Steinbeck gave the Dutchmen a 3-2 lead.

Dominic Grigaitis was then hit by a pitch reloading the bases for Brandt.

Hitting a fly ball to right field, Brandt saw it dropped allowing Logan Evans, Steinbeck and Grigaitis to all score.

Brandt eventually scored to give the Dutchmen their final margin of victory.

Steven Kemp’s JV Dutchmen led 9-8 after four innings before Waynesville came back with three runs in the top of the fifth inning handing Owensville an 11-9 loss.

Austin Long had a team-high three hits for the JV Dutchmen while Landon Ely and Layne Evans both scored two runs.

Will Lauth also two hits and two runs scored for Owensville.
