Alan Robert Newman, 62, Bland, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
He was born Sept. 8, 1958, to Clarence and Lillian (Erhardt) Newman in Evergreen Park, Ill.
He was united in marriage to Rhonda Hinson, Nov. 13, 1976, in Redbird.
Alan was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 624 A.F. & A.M. and the Moose Lodge, both in Owensville.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Lillian; wife, Rhonda; granddaughter, Lydia Newman; and siblings, Ralph Newman and Rose Mae Hartmann.
He is survived by children, Michelle Doss and husband John of Owensville, Mitchell Newman and wife Carman of Washington and Meagan Cooper and husband Joe of Hartsburg; siblings, Roy Newman of Belle, Paul Newman, Art Newman and wife Sheryl and Jim Newman, all of Bland, and Martin Newman of Jefferson City; and grandchildren, Blake Mehrhoff and wife Shyan, Easton and Parker Cooper and Logan, Chelsea, Natalie and Amelia Newman.
Visitation will be Friday, April 9, from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville where funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, at 12 p.m. (noon). Burial will be in Licklider Cemetery at Cuba. The funeral home requests attendees observe covid restrictions. Masks are suggested but not mandatory. Memorials contributions suggested to family’s choice.
