Alexander LeRoy Dwyer, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection, Nov. 26, 2021, at the age of 94 years.

Beloved loving husband of 71 years to Antonina (nee Genovese) Dwyer; dear son of both the late Joseph and Adelaide (nee Coyle); dear loving father of Alexander J. (Christine) Dwyer and Mary Louise Dwyer; dear grandfather of Alexander (MyLe) Dwyer, Jared Dwyer, Maria (Alex) Moraes; dear great-grandfather of Sophia, Alexander T., and Alexander M.; dear brother; dear son-in-law; dear brother-in-law of Domenica Joyce, Louise (Gerald) Mann; dear uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Mr. Dwyer was a Merchant Marine in the South Pacific during WWII, and in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Berberich Delivery, and Hogan Trucking as a delivery driver for the St. Louis Post Dispatch. He was a member of Teamsters Local 610 and a co-founder of Central Missouri Septic Service. Mr. Dwyer was a resident of rural Gerald, and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church (Port Hudson) in New Haven.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church (Port Hudson) with Fr. James Foster officiating.

Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Holy Family Catholic Church.
