Alice Maxine Niewald, 84, Owensville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at her residence.
She was born April 24, 1938, to Lawrence and Hazel Alice (Boring) Elliott in Akron, Colo.
She was united in marriage to Fred Elmer Niewald, March 27, 1981, in Hermann.
Alice was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds.
She was preceded in death by parents Lawrence and Hazel; daughter Erika Crowell; brothers William and James Elliott; and sister Mae Hardin.
She is survived by husband Fred; children Jeremiah Niewald and wife Megan of Owensville, John Smith of Tacoma, Wash., and Karen Smith and husband Joe of Lafayette, Colo.; brother George Elliott of Conn.; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 1, from 9–11 a.m., at New Salem Baptist Church, Owensville, with funeral services following with Pastor Jack Kurrelmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
