Runners, walkers, young and old showed up on Thursday for the 13th annual Hermann Turkey Trot. With a temperature at 30 degrees most participants covered their heads and hands for the 5k run/walk. Chase Branson (#221 below) starts a timer on his watch as the race begins. He turned in the fastest time at 16 minutes, 17 seconds. The fastest female runner was Misty Schlabach with a finish time of 22 minutes, 50 seconds. The event raised over $3,000 for Hermann Special Olympics and the Hermann Area District Hospital Rehab department.
Participating in last week’s Hermann Turkey Trot were (photo right, from left) Ryker Ash, Will Manning and Darlus Rudzinski. Man’s best friend (far right) didn’t mind the freezing temperature. Derek Menke (below center) gave instructions to the runners before the race. Finishing the race, first and second were (below, from left) Chase Branson and Conner Manning
