Applications for Operation Christmas 2019 services are now open through the Helping Hands Outreach Center of Gasconade County at their new facility on Kosark Road in Owensville.

Operation Christmas services are open only to Gasconade County residents residing in the Gasconade County R-2 School District. The application period which began Oct. 22 remains open until Wednesday, Nov. 27. The period for adopting families opened today (Wednesday) and also ends Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Information on both applications is available at the Helping Hands Outreach Center north of Highway 28 at 3522 Kosark Road in Owensville.

Operation Christmas 2019 planners met Monday at New Hope United Methodist Church to finalize the time-line for this year’s campaign and repair food collection boxes which will be placed later this week.

Owensville’s elementary and middle schools are planning another “food fight” between the two buildings this year. LSC Communications is also planning another food collection in house. High school clubs are also participating in a family gift collection program.

The local Scouting for Food collection is scheduled on Saturday, Nov. 2.
