Owensville police are investigating an early-morning fire Sunday in the 400 block of East Apple, which destroyed a 1984 Cushman utility vehicle, as a possible arson case.
Owensville’s volunteer fire department was called out to the corner of East Apple and North Pine at 12:20 a.m. July 4 for a report of a “vehicle fire with exposures” to buildings. The Cushman was fully engulfed and was damaged extensively. The owner told police he had a threatening encounter with a man earlier. Police talked with a woman who gave a description of a man walking in the neighborhood around that time who was wearing a long, dark jacket.
