Audra Benny Cahill or just Benny, as he preferred to go by, 72, of Owensville, departed this life peacefully at his home while in hospice care, Monday, June 8, 2020.
He was born Aug. 13, 1947, to Audra (A.J.) and Dorothy Edna (Jackson) Cahill in Washington.
He was united in marriage to Linda Jett, June 5, 1971, in Belle. They recently celebrated their 49th anniversary.
Benny served in the United States Army having been stationed at Ft. Ord in Monterey, Calif., from 1965-68. He enjoyed fishing and telling stories and always loved sharing jokes with anyone who would listen. He cherished doing anything and everything with his grandkids who were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audra and Dorothy Cahill; brother, Danny Cahill; and son-in-law, Chris (Short) Blankenship.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; daughter, Crystal Blankenship of Rosebud; grandchildren, Macen and Kate Blankenship of Rosebud; sister, Ramona Henderson and husband Rayford of Ft. Payne, Ala.; brother, Alva Cahill of St. Elizabeth; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Les Dority officiating. Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
