Bercina A. “Fiesty” Garstang, 70, Chamois, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at her residence.

She was born July 26, 1951, to the late Rudolph and Gertha (Nichols) Buscher in Chamois.

She was united in marriage to Gene Garstang Oct. 10, 1970, in Chamois.

Bercina was a 1969 graduate of Chamois High School.

She worked as a babysitter for several years and then later worked for Mosby’s in Linn and Morrison Apparel.

Bercina was a very talented seamstress, quilter, embroiderer and crafter. She loved to spend time with her sisters and play games with them, her latest game being Farkle. Bercina’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by husband of 51 years, Gene; children, G. Chris Garstang of Osage Beach, Angela Dufur and husband John of Boonville, Neal Garstang and wife April of Chamois and Cody Garstang and wife Adrianna of Ferguson, N.C.; six grandchildren, Colton, Hayden and Riley Dufur and Kylie, Emma and Bentley Garstang; brothers, Virgil Buscher of Chamois and Gary Buscher and wife Tanya of Holts Summit; sisters, Pat Maxwell of Mexico, Terena Schaefer and husband Mike of Carrollton, Phyllis Bennett and husband Keith of Holts Summit and Sandra Buscher of Jefferson City; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service and inurnment will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, at Oakland Cemetery in Chamois with Rev. Gary Ruff officiating.

Memorial contributions suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
