Bernadine Ann Otto, 94, St. Thomas, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City.

She was born June 30, 1927, to the late Theodore and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (Butel) Werdehausen in Meta.

She was united in marriage to Lawrence Stephen Otto July 16, 1946.

Bernadine was a faithful member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta and was a member of St. Ann’s Sodality. She was a talented quilter and was also a member of the Meta Quilting Club.

Bernadine had an endearing personality, a humble heart, and an unconditional love for her family. She enjoyed baking, dancing, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence; parents, Theodore and Wilhelmina; grandson, Scott Otto; daughter-in-law, Donna Otto; and brother, Charles Werdehausen.

Bernadine is survived by children, Kenneth Otto and wife Leona of St. Thomas, Donald Otto of Westphalia, Marilyn Bax and husband Gayle, Eugene Otto, Dennis Otto and Glenn Otto, all of St. Thomas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; brother, James Werdehausen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred Otto and wife Mary Ann, Charlie Otto and wife Bea, Marilyn Otto and Christine Otto; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, April 1, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. Interment was in St. Cecilia Cemetery near Meta.

Memorial contributions suggested to St. Joseph School in Westphalia.
