Betty LaRece Leonberger, 94, Owensville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla.
She was born Dec. 1, 1925, to Alice (Jacobsen) Wheeler, in South Dakota.
She was united in marriage to Harry E. Leonberger, Dec. 31, 1944, in St. Louis.
Betty enjoyed traveling, reading, making quilts and putting together puzzles. She had a great love for her collies.
She was preceded in death by mother, Alice; and husband, Harry.
She is survived by daughter, Betty Whitaker and husband Gene of Bland; grandchildren, Tammy Leach and husband Chris of Warrenton and Christine Orlando of Bland; great-grandchildren, Kym Orlando, Stephen Leach and wife Kristen, Ashley Workman, Michael Orlando and Hollyanne Reel and husband Levi; and great-great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Layla, Miya, Gauge, Kiera, Oliver, Quinten, Aubree and Olivia.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 30, at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Shriners Hospital.
The family would like to thank Victorian Place in Owensville for their great care and concern that they have given her while her stay there.
