Betty S. Shockley, 75, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at her daughters home in Freeburg.
She was born Dec. 8, 1943, to Joseph and Mildred (Cahill) Haines, in Washington.
She was united in marriage to Edward Shockley in January of 1959 in Vichy.
Betty was a lifelong area resident and attended Bland school system.
She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mildred; husband, Edward; daughters, Tonia Spurgeon and Tina Shockley; sisters, Cindy Price and JoAnn Vandegriffe; grandson, Robbie Marquart; and sister-in-law, Robin Haines.
Betty is survived by sons, Eddie Shockley and wife Darla, Matt Shockley and wife Amy and Josh Thornhill and wife Crystal, all of St. James; daughters, Kim Workman and husband Raymond of Vichy, Pam Mitchell of Jefferson City, Lisa Shockley of Belle and Misty Bland and husband Rex of Freeburg; brothers, Jim Haines of Owensville, Billy Haines and wife Marilynn of Vichy and Kenny Haines of Owensville; sisters, Carolyn Francis and husband Mike of Texas, Linda Morelock and husband Larry of Alabama and Rita Potts and husband Sammy of Vichy; and 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, at Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle, with Jack Vincent officiating. Interment was in Campbell Cemetery
