Bruce Wayne Chapman, 68, Rosebud, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

He was born Jan. 5, 1951 a son of Clarence J. “Chippy” and Doris Irene (Bruce) Chapman, in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Mary Kreter, Dec. 24, 1974, at St. John’s UCC at Bem.

Bruce was educated in Gasconade County Schools and Lindbergh High School. He was a member of UCC Bem Church, a life member of the Owensville Masonic Lodge  No. 624 A.F. & A.M., Ozark Shrine Club, Scottish Rite of Columbia, Widow’s Sons of Missouri, and the Moolah Shrine of St. Louis. His hobbies were riding motorcycles, being outdoors, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by father, Clarence; brothers, Ronald and Edward Chapman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arno and Lois Kreter; brothers-in-law, Lee Kreter and Ron Bartram; and sister-in-law, Doretta Chapman.

He is survived by wife, Mary; mother, Doris; son, Clayton W. Chapman and wife Dana of Rosebud; daughter, Jessica L. Mittelhauser and husband Chad of St. Charles; brother, James N. Chapman of Imperial; sister, Glenna K. Linenbroker and husband Edward of Rosebud; and grandchildren, Dalten J. Chapman, Alisen K. Chapman, Drew W. Chapman, Jordyn L. Mittelhauser and Grant L. Mittelhauser.

Visitation will be (today) Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville from 2:30-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 5, at St. John’s Bem Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Remelius officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Bem Cemetery.
