Capital Region physicians begin telehealth visits

JEFFERSON CITY – Beginning Wednesday, March 25, Capital Region Medical Center's patients are seeing their provider for appointments that do not require an in-person physical examination through a method called "telehealth."

“We are committed to providing our patients access to care in the safest possible way,” said Dr. Michelle Barg, chief clinical officer for the Capital Region Physicians medical group. “Utilizing technology nearly everyone has either in their home or on their smartphone we can keep them in the comfort of their own space, while continuing their care.”

Telehealth appointments can be accessed through an easy to use app that can be downloaded directly on to your smartphone or on the website through your PC with a webcam. For a complete guide please visit www.crmc.org/televisit.

During the initial phase of telehealth visits, participating Capital Region Physicians clinics will reach out to existing patients to schedule their visit and provide technology support to ensure the connection is successful.

“We are embracing this event as an opportunity to expand our access for patients,” said Barg. “Ultimately our goal is to have every feasible provider using the platform and continuing to streamline the process and improve patient encounters.”
