Carl David Landwehr, 83, Bem, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at his residence.
He was born July 6, 1937, to George and Flora (Stock) Landwehr, in Bem.
He was united in marriage to Sandra S. Ball, Oct. 1, 1960, in Farber.
Carl served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of VFW Post No. 6123 and Owensville Masonic Lodge No. 624. He had worked for Fred Weber for 36 years.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Flora; son, Bryan David Landwehr; brothers, Wayne, Robert, Maurice and Ralph Landwehr; sister, Doris Green; sisters-in-law, Evie, Marie and Laverne Landwehr; and brothers-in-law, Bill Green and Don Ruffner.
He is survived by wife, Sandra, of Bem; daughters, Tracey Jackson and husband Chris of Labadie and Toni Saebens and husband Kurt of Owensville; sisters, Phyllis Murta and husband Bob of Mexico, Lois Ruffner of Bem and Barb Schroepfer of Washington; grandchildren, Josh Jackson and wife Holly of Creve Coeur, Tyler Jackson and wife Katie of Washington, Rachel Bachman and husband James of Columbia, Cody Saebens and wife Rachel of St. Peter’s, Alex and Jack Saebens, both of Owensville, and Bryan Landwehr of Owensville; and great-grandchildren, Ayce, Layne, Remi and Asher Saebens and Evelyn and Josephine Jackson.
Visitation will be (today) Wednesday, June 2, from 4-7 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be Thursday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bem with Pastor Jeff Remelius officiating. His cremains will be interred in the church cemetery with full military honors. Masks are optional. Memorials requested for family’s choice.
