Catherine Alene Fritsch, 87, O’Fallon, formerly of Owensville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at her daughter’s home in O’Fallon.
She was born July 18, 1933, to Grant and Maude Lee (Carwile) Posey, in Bay.
Catherine was a member of Owensville Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by parents, Grant and Maude; daughter, Catherine Bliss; son, Lonnie Rice; brother, Howard Roethemeyer; and adopted sister, Joyce Posey.
She is survived by daughter, Celeste Fritsch of O’Fallon and fiancé Paul Senecal of Maplewood; son, Christopher Fritsch and significant other Amanda Sanzotera of Union; stepbrothers, Albert West and wife Susie of Prescott, Ariz., and Michael West of Eugene, Ore.; stepsister, Karen Crawford and husband Roger of Prescott, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Reithemeyer of Elsberry; son-in-law, Kirby Bliss and wife Debra of Union; six grandchildren, Michael, Gary, Melissa, Shawn, Sherry and Shalon; and four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Keegan, Austin and Loralei.
Visitation will be Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville. Prayer services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Please observe covid restrictions. Masks are required. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery on Bland Route.
