Cecilia M. “Cissy” Schaeperkoetter, 99, Owensville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.
She was born Sept. 11, 1922, to Frank and Josephine (Lutomski) Pollock in Owensville.
She was united in marriage to Raymond F. Schaeperkoetter, Oct. 20, 1940, in Owensville.
Cecilia was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Salem, Ill., where she was secretary of Lady’s Sodality for many years. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, playing regularly at nursing homes. She was an incredible cook remembering ingredients in complex dishes, especially baking cakes for special events.
She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Josephine Pollock; brother Bernard Pollock; and niece Sharon Decker.
She is survived by sister-in-law Vida Mehrhoff of Higginsville; nine nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 28, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville, with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Burial was in Owensville City Cemetery.
Memorials suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Centralia Humane Society.
