Charles (Buddy) Warren Stovall of Owensville left this life Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Buddy was born Sept. 11, 1959, to Dwight E. Stovall and Lela I. (Spurgeon) Stovall of Wellston.

Buddy grew up in Wellston and lived there with his mother and sister, Keitha Stovall until 1989 when he was not able to due to his mother’s declining health.

Since 2005 he has lived at Frene Valley of Owensville nursing home in Owensville.

Buddy enjoyed playing whiffle ball with whoever would play. He also loved to give you a swat with the plastic bat if you got too close. His nephews can attest to that. Buddy enjoyed listening to music and dancing to the likes of “Charlie Brown” and earned the nickname Brownie for many years. Some of his family still refers to him as Brownie. He carried a TV Guide with him at all times since his youth. Buddy was a favorite of many of the nursing home staff because of his easy going nature until his health deteriorated limiting his ability to communicate.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lela I. Stovall, father Dwight E. Stovall and sister Keitha Stovall.

He is survived by his brothers Woody Stovall and wife Barb of Cuba, Harvey Stovall and wife Betty of Owensville, David Stovall and wife Marilyn of Belle, and half-brother Sammy Stovall and wife Mindy of Cuba; and aunts, an uncle, nephews, nieces and friends.

Graveside services for the family will be held at the Licklider Cemetary near Cuba.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
