Chester Charles Kottwitz, 98, Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, Jan 23, 2022.
He was born Dec. 10, 1923, to Albert A. and Elizabeth ( Huebner) Kottwitz in Bem.
On June 25, 1949, he was married to Genevieve Sicht at Bland Evangelical Church. They were married 46 years, until her death on Sept. 26, 1995. Chester married Anna Rikard, Jan 11, 1997, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 2017.
Chester served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Owensville VFW Post 6133.
Besides his parents and wives, Chester was preceded in death by infant son Timothy Kottwitz; sister Wilma Jose; and brothers Melvin, Irvin, Vernon and Everett Kottwitz.
He is survived by daughter Janet Sue Morgan (Duwane) of Jefferson City; sisters Fran Jost and Sandra Pointer, both of Owensville;grandchildren, Joshua Morgan (Sheri) of Wardsville, Melissa Morgan (Alan Mead) of Osage Beach, and Timothy Morgan (Dasha) of Rockledge Florida; and six great-grandchildren; and six step-children, and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, who also loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-2:30 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel with Pastor Mark Kiekhaefer officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, with full military honors.
