Christmas Tablescapes canceled due to COVID

HERMANN — Christmas Tablescapes 2020 has been canceled, the Gasconade County Historical Society announced on Nov. 18.

Concerns surrounding exponential spread of the coronavirus prompted the Society’s decision, the group announced this week.

Twenty tablescape designers were prepared to set up their Christmas dinner table displays for the event scheduled for the first two weekends in December.

Christmas Tablescapes has been a fundraising activity of the Historical Society since 2012. The historic 1864 Rotunda in the Upper City Park has been the setting for the event that is always held the first two weekends in December.

“The Gasconade County Historical Society regrets having to cancel the event and now looks forward to hosting Christmas Tablescapes in December 2021,” organizers said in a statement.
