OWENSVILLE — The Owensville Board of Aldermen approved the surplus sale of a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 double-cab short-bed truck at their meeting on Monday.
The three-quarter ton truck, equipped with four-wheel-drive and a seven-and-a-half foot Western snowplow, has around 80,000 miles on it. “I’ve got some Kelley Blue Book numbers,” Public Works Director Jeff Fahrenholtz informed the board. “They’re saying roughly between $16- and $20,000.”
The board agreed to first attempt to advertise it locally and if it doesn’t bring a decent price to place it on a site such as Purple Wave Auction, a service the city has previously used for surplus property.
The motion to approve surplusing the vehicle was made by Board President and Ward 1 Alderman Cathy Lahmeyer, seconded by Ward 2 Alderman Denise Bohl and passed with all in favor.
