A public hearing was held last Thursday, Sept. 17, at Gerald City Hall to determine the city’s tax rate for 2020.
Even though no one from the public was in attendance to speak for or against the proposal, aldermen patiently waited the allotted time, before agreeing to keep the rate the same.
After the public hearing closed, the aldermen accepted the unchanged tax rate of 0.9502, setting it in law by ordinance.
