Over the past two months, the coaching carousel in the Gasconade County R-2 School District has been doing a lot of spinning.
Between the May and June meetings of the R-2 Board of Education, a total of three coaching resignations and five new coaching hires were made.
During the May 16 board meeting, resignations were unanimously approved for assistant softball coach Shane Hunt and assistant track and field coach Taylor Ruth.
In a special meeting on May 20, Zach Bollmann was named as the first head coach of the Owensville Dutchgirl wrestling program.
Five coaching-related moves were also made during the R-2 Board of Education’s most recent meeting held Monday night.
Dutchmen head baseball coach Tyler Ahring had his resignation accepted and will continue his teaching duties in the district.
Hired to take his place in the third-base coaches box was assistant coach Steven Kemp.
With Bollmann’s move to Dutchgirl head wrestling coach, former OHS wrestler Justin Lowe was hired to become an assistant wrestling coach under current head coach Dustin Howard.
Jon VanLeer was also named Dutchmen freshman basketball head coach in addition to Megan Pondrom being named an assistant cross country coach.
