Infections from COVID-19 sent 54 Gasconade County R-2 School District students into quarantine since Nov. 4.
Three of the district’s students, all high school age, tested positive for the virus, according to notices sent out by district administrators since a week ago Wednesday.
One middle school staff member was reported to have tested positive, according to the district. A notice sent out Tuesday afternoon indicated a staff member from Owensville Elementary was asked to quarantine. The staff member was last in the building on Monday but did not show any positive symptoms related to COVID-19, according to Dr. Scott Davidson, principal at OES.
For the reporting period of Nov. 4-10, seven OES students and one staff member have been asked to quarantine.
One middle school staff member has tested positive and two others were asked to quarantine. Three OMS students are on quarantine. Gerald has five quarantined students and one staff member in quarantine. At the high school, three students have been tested positive resulting in 39 quarantine requests —13 of those coming Nov. 4, 16 on Nov. 5, and 10 on Nov. 9 along with one staffer.
