Dean Kneeskern, 57, Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at his home surrounded by family after battling ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
He was born Nov. 30, 1962, to Michael and Ethel (Mahaney) Kneeskern, in Jefferson City.
He was united in marriage to Susan Honse, Feb. 20, 1993, in Jefferson City.
Dean was a lifelong resident of central Missouri. He was a 1981 graduate of Bland High School and furthered his education at a technical school in Rolla. He was employed with CenturyLink for 25 years as a lineman and later a central office special services technician. He was a member of the IBEW Local 2 and the Capital City Crappie Club, where he served as president many times.
He was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Ethel; and father-in-law, Kenny Honse.
He is survived by wife, Susan, of Jefferson City; sons, Austin Kneeskern and wife Sara and Billy Plank and wife Beth, all of Jefferson City; brother, Scott Kneeskern of Belle; sister, Tammy Michel and husband Scott of Owensville; step-father, Elwood Runge of Belle; mother-in-law, Anita Honse of Jefferson City; brother-in-law, Kenny Honse of Jefferson City; sister-in-law, Konny Schaeffer of Lake St. Louis; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 15, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Trevor Dancer officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be held at Liberty Cemetery in Belle at a later day.
