In spite of the fall season of Owensville Dutchgirl softball ending in the district semifinals, four players were recognized for their efforts with postseason honors at the conference, district and regional levels.

Among the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) softball coaches, four Dutchgirls made either the first or second teams.

Addison Wright and Anna Finley were both named an All-FRC First Team pitcher and infielder respectively. They were both also voted on to the Class 3, District 3 All-District Team at the same positions.

For the Class 3, Region 2 Softball Team, Finley was named to the first-team infield while Wright was selected to the second-team at pitcher.

Wright led the Dutchgirls as a team in several statistical categories including batting average (.519), on-base percentage (.598), slugging percentage (1.000), hits (42), singles (21), triples (6), home runs (6), runs batted in (47), walks (10) and hit by pitch (6).

Finley was right there with Wright in several of those same stats.

Tying Wright for the team lead with 21 singles and 10 walks, Finley also led the Dutchgirls with 34 runs scored and 12 doubles.

Wright’s partner in crime behind the plate in senior Halie Boyer was named to the All-FRC and All-District Second Team for her work at catcher.

Boyer led the Dutchgirls with three sacrifice bunts.

Having seven multi-hit games throughout her senior season, Boyer’s best outing came against Tuscumbia’s Lady Lions as part of a Saturday, Sept. 12 doubleheader in Vienna.

Finishing with a season-high three hits, Boyer also drove in two runs while scoring a pair of runs in Owensville’s 12-0 victory over the Lady Lions.

To go along with her three-hit effort against Tuscumbia, Boyer also had two hits against Linn, Union, New Haven, South Callaway, St. Clair and Carthage.

Rounding out the Dutchgirl quartet of postseason honorees was senior infielder Paige Bossaller.

Along with Boyer, Bossaller was named to both the All-FRC and All-District second team for her infield play throughout the season.

Bossaller tied for second on the team with 10 doubles alongside senior outfielder Kaitlyn Nelson.

She also recored 20 singles good for second on the team closely behind Finley and Wright.

Driving in 29 runs, that number was good for second on the team behind Wright’s 47 RBIs.

Two games that stuck out for Bossaller during her senior season were those against New Haven and South Callaway.

Against New Haven, she drove in five runs to go along with three hits and two runs scored.

In their 13-11 win at South Callaway, she also had three hits while driving in four more runs.
