Area high school spring sports fans looking for postseason action this weekend will have plenty to choose from.

OHS Field on the campus of Owensville High School will host the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 4, District 4 Baseball Tournament.

Teams competing alongside the host Dutchmen include Sullivan’s Eagles, St. James’ Tigers, St. Clair’s Bulldogs, Cuba’s Wildcats and Salem’s Tigers.

Tournament action will begin Saturday at high noon with the first of two quarterfinal games between the fourth-seeded Cuba Wildcats and fifth-seeded Salem Tigers.

Game two Saturday will pit the third-seeded St. Clair Bulldogs against the sixth-seeded Owensville Dutchmen at 2:30 p.m.

In order for the Dutchmen to have a shot at defending their district title from last year, they will need to avenge a pair of losses earlier this season to the Bulldogs.

If they’re successful, they will advance to Monday’s semifinals against the second-seeded St. James Tigers on Monday, May 15 at 6 p.m.

Owensville nearly overcame a 7-0 deficit before falling to the Tigers 8-7 back in mid-April.

Another Dutchmen upset would advance them to the district championship game on Thursday, May 18 at 4 p.m., against either Sullivan, Cuba or Salem.

Kalyn Kemp’s Owensville Dutchgirl soccer team will begin their quest towards a district title opening the MSHSAA Class 2, District 4 Girls Soccer Tournament at Westminster Christian Academy against Sullivan’s Lady Eagles on Saturday at 4 p.m.

A victory there would advance OHS to the district semifinals on Tuesday, May 16 against either Blair Oaks or Westminster.
