Donald A. Hoss, 79, Ft. Myers, Fla., passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
He was born Dec. 29, 1940, to Alvin Issac and Alice Martha (Branson) Hoss, in Owensville.
Don worked in the automobile industry, holding many positions at General Motors, Volkswagen and Chrysler. During his career, he received recognition for several innovative patents for shipping and storage equipment. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1998 and a Shriner in 1999. He also served as a city councilman for Sylvan Lake, Mich.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Alice; son, Jeffrey Hoss; and grandson, David Hoss.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Ann Brown Hoss, of Ft.. Myers, Fla.; his first wife, Patricia Hicks Zoll of Owensville; son, Timothy Hoss and wife Dawn of Ft. Myers, Fla.; daughter, Donna Mistler and husband Rick of Owensville; brother, William Hoss and wife Opal of St. Peters; sisters, Edith Jost and husband Stanley of Owensville and Ramona Slovensky and husband Charles of Dacula, Ga.; grandchildren, Brandi, Tyler, Emily, Donald, Nick, Daniel and Kylee; and great-grandchildren, Allison, Logan, Tanner, Emberlyn, Taclyn, Gabriel, Rhett, Teegan, Kinsley and Jax.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Leduc United Methodist Church cemetery in Bland.
