Donna Sue Thurmond, 74, Bland passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Frene Valley Stonebridge of Hermann.
She was born July 6, 1946 to Milford and Dora (Nevills) Loyd.
She was united in marriage to Franklin Edward Thurmond, June 16, 1973, in Union.
Donna had been employed as a seamstress for the Carmo Shoe Factory in Union, Gerald Industries and Paramount Headwear Factory, both in Gerald.
She was preceded in death by parents, Milford and Dora; husband, Franklin; daughter, Lisa Thurmond; brother, Donald Lee Loyd; sister, Mary Jane Klein; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Thurmond and Rose Loyd.
She is survived by children, Paul Thurmond and wife Patti of Bland, Roger Thurmond of Pryor, Okla., Rose Mckinnon and Benny Jo, Sammy and Gary Leroy Thurmond and wife Michelle, all of St. Clair, Marvin Thurmond and wife Cindy of Des Moines, Iowa, and Denice Duffer and husband John of Union; brothers, Ronnie, Martin and Leslie “Bud” Loyd, all of Union, and Robert Loyd of Treloar; sisters, Della Cooper and husband Gene of Pacific, Velma Higgs of Cherryville, Vicky Casey of Independence, Betty June Horn and husband Robert of Stran; and Cindy Abbit of Union; and 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by Sassmann’s Chapel.
