Doris Lee (Shirley) Pendleton, 78, Belle, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at Frene Valley Senior Living in Owensville. She was born June 12, 1941, in Cave City, Ark., a daughter to the late Earvin and Nettie B. (Byrd) Shirley.

Doris was united in marriage to Fred Edwards in 1960 and from this union they were blessed with two daughters Carla McKinney and BrendaLeigh Guffey. She was later united in marriage to Tommy Pendleton of Belle in 1983 and was blessed with two stepchildren Bryan Pendleton and Penny Burton, along with a step granddaughter, Torrie Rhoads.

Doris was a 1959 graduate of Bono High School. She lived many years in West Memphis, Ark., and worked for Sears & Roebuck Co. and later moved to Mtn. Home, Ark. Upon marrying Tom Pendleton she worked at Ottenheimer and Brown Shoe Company. She furthered her education in Rolla and worked for 10 years for the Phelps County Clerk’s Office from which she retired. Doris was a member of the Owensville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Earvin and Nettie B. Shirley; her husband, Tommy Pendleton; her brother, Charles Shirley; and sister, Glenna Hurst.

Doris is survived by her children, Carla McKinney and husband Rick of Owensville and Brenda Leigh Guffey and husband Kevin of Belle; stepson, Bryan Pendleton and wife Amy of Rolla; stepdaughter, Penny Burton of Oklahoma; step granddaughter, Torrie Rhoads and husband Amos of Belle; grandchildren, Molly (Jamie Tyler) Puente, Blaine McKinney, Miles McKinney, Wade (Logan) Guffey, Madeline Guffey, Zachary and Emily Pendleton and Brianna Livesay; great-grandchildren, Brock Guffey, Quinton Reed, Kyrie Woistman and Carson and Vada Faye Rhoads; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

A private graveside service has been planned.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Fair Haven Children’s home in Stafford or Owensville Church of Christ in Owensville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
