Dorothy Jayne Meyer, 90, Owensville, formerly of Gerald, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Victorian Place of Owensville.
Dorothy was born Sept. 16, 1931, to Harold and Glenrose (Long) Middleton in Gerald.
She was united in marriage to Stanley Edward Meyer, Nov. 18, 1950, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Gerald.
She and her husband owned and operated the Meyer Funeral Home in Gerald, Chamois, and Union for over 50 years. She was active in the Gerald Senior Citizen’s Housing and served on the board of Gerald Development. She was a member of St. Paul’s UCC.
She was preceded in death by parents Harold and Glenrose Middleton; husband Stanley Meyer; sister Susan Middleton; and brother Kimber Middleton.
She is survived by son Stephen Meyer of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; brother James H. Middleton and wife Pat of Fenton; grandchildren Sean Meyer and wife Shannon of Chardon, Ohio and Kelly James and husband Bobby of Tampa, Fla., and great-grandchildren Ingrid Meyer, Gus Stanley Meyer, Astrid Meyer, and Quinn Meyer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, at St. Paul’s UCC, Gerald, with Pastor Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial was at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery.
