Douglas Edward Rosson, 71, Owensville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 13, 1949, to Raymond and Della (Limberg) Rosson, in Washington.
He was united in marriage to Janette Morre, Feb. 10, 1968, in Owensville.
Douglas was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge 878, Masonic Lodge 624 and Scottish Rite. He was a retired member of the Owensville Fire Department and a past member of Owensville Jaycees. He helped set up Owensville Ambulance District and was a former EMT. He also helped begin St. Peter’s Nursery School.
He was preceded in death by father, Raymond; stepfather and mother, Fred and Della (Limberg Rosson) Bergman; grandson, Corey Edward Woemmel; and parents-in-law, Eugene and Ellene Morre.
He is survived by wife, Janette, of the home; daughter, Toni Woemmel and husband Randy of Owensville; grandson, Caleb Woemmel of Union; granddaughter-in-law, Caitlin Woemmel of Cedar Hill; great-grandson, Ian Woemmel of Cedar Hill; and sister, Sheila Rosson Russell of Columbia.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at Gottenstroeter Chapel with Rev. Stephanie DeLong officiating. Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens. Memorials requested to family’s choice.
