Drake James Holzschuh, 15, Owensville passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his home.

He was born Dec. 19, 2005, to James and Shannan (Smith) Holzschuh, in Columbia.

Drake James was a true outdoorsman and a well- rounded young man. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his new four-wheeler and side-by-side, boating, working at the farm and rebuilding his square body Chevy with his dad of which he was extremely proud.

Drake’s other passions included football, Xbox, playing with his dog, Harley, hanging out with his best friend, Tanner, being a hard-core Green Bay Packers fan, and last but not least, he loved to eat.

Drake was one of a kind; his smile would light up a room. He thrived on making others laugh and was always the class clown. His charismatic personality and charm never went unnoticed. Drake was truly loved and adored by all those who knew him.

Drake was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Donald James Holzschuh; and maternal grandmother, Robin Elsie Knisley.

He is survived by his mother, Shannan, of Owensville; father, James and wife Jamie of Bland; his sister, Mariah; paternal grandmother, Sandy Holzschuh of Bland; maternal grandparents, Bill Smith and wife Valerie of St. Marys, W.Va.; extended grandparents, Dave and Carol Kamper of Owensville; and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him endlessly.

A celebration of life was held for friends and family, Monday, April 26, at the First Baptist Church in Owensville.

Drake was laid to rest in private at the Union Cemetery in Bland.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Holzschuh Family Benefit at Legends Bank in Owensville.
