Playing five games in a five-day span last week, Hannah Koppelmann’s Owensville Dutchgirls nearly pulled off a 5-0 week.
Aside from a 5-4 setback to Russellville in the title game of the Owensville Softball Tournament Saturday, the Dutchgirls posted wins in their other four games.
Also in the tournament, OHS defeated New Haven 12-6 and blanked South Callaway 6-0.
In Four Rivers Conference (FRC) action last week, Owensville defeated New Haven 8-1 last Tuesday behind home runs from Addison Wright and Kaitlin Nelson.
Wright also threw a perfect game Thursday against St. James in a 12-0 victory in five innings. She also ended the game with a bases-clearing triple.
Defeating St. Clair 13-3 last night (Tuesday) in six innings, Owensville will look to stay alive in the FRC title hunt with a victory tomorrow (Thursday) night at home against Pacific’s Lady Indians with a 4:30 p.m., first pitch at OHS Field.
