A victory on senior night.

That was the goal Thursday night for Kalyn Kemp’s Owensville Dutchgirl soccer team at Dutchmen Field with St. James’ Lady Tigers in town.

Taking a slim 2-1 lead into halftime, junior Landry Watson completed a senior-night hat trick with two goals in a span of 2:18 early in the second half helping Owensville go on to a 5-1 victory over the visitors from Phelps County.

Watson started the scoring with a goal at the 36:18 mark of the first half giving the host Dutchgirls an early 1-0 lead.

Just past the midway point of the first half, freshman Audrey Quilacio doubled the Dutchgirl lead to 2-0 with her first goal of the game.

St. James’ Lydia Kemnitzer dashed Owensville’s hopes for a senior-night shutout with a goal at the 3:04 mark of the first half on an assist from Allie Jones.

Denied on two previous shots, Watson scored her second goal of the game at the 33:28 mark of the second half doubling the Dutchgirl lead to 3-1.

Barely over two minutes later, Watson completed a hat trick scoring her third goal of the game with 31:10 remaining pushing the Owensville lead to 4-1.

Quilacio netted her second goal of the game with 7:28 remaining giving the Dutchgirls their final margin of victory.

Camri Jones had a first-half assist while senior Aubrey Dawson chipped in a second-half assist for Owensville.

Returning to action the next night, Kemp’s Dutchgirls looked to even their record on the week at 2-2 with a Friday-night victory over their Highway 28 neighbors to the west in Belle’s Lady Tigers.

Scoring three goals over the first six minutes of the match, Owensville went on to defeat Belle 8-0 via the mercy rule.

Quilacio got the scoring started against Belle with a goal at the 37:33 mark of the opening half for an early 1-0 Dutchgirl lead.

Not quite two minutes later, Watson scored her first goal of the match with 35:36 until halftime for a 2-0 Owensville lead.

Just over a minute later, Watson found the back of the net for the second time giving OHS a 3-0 lead with 34:10 until halftime.

Scoring slowed until just beyond the midway point of the first half.

Mallory Eberlin scored her first goal of the game with 19:12 until halftime for a 4-0 Dutchgirl lead.

With 8:31 until halftime, Watson completed her second hat trick in as many days with her third goal against Belle at the 8:31 mark of the opening half for a 5-0 Owensville lead.

McKenna Edwards joined the list of goal scorers with 1:32 remaining in the opening half making it 6-0 Owensville over Belle.

Quilacio netted her second goal with 32.2 for the half making it 7-0 Dutchgirls over the visiting Lady Tigers before Watson made it a four-goal game with .2 left in the half of Owensville’s 8-0 victory.

After ending the home portion of the schedule during their annual tournament this week, OHS will hit the road for matches next week at St. Clair (Tuesday) and Crocker on Friday.
