Dutchgirl softball scores purple out victory over Cuba
Donning purple t-shirts in honor of Dutchgirl sophomore Grace Abell (above), Hannah Koppelmann’s Owensville Dutchgirl softball team took on Cuba’s Lady Wildcats back on Monday, Oct. 4 at OHS Field in the inaugural purple out game raising awareness for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which Abell has since beaten.

Behind a pair of home runs from Addison Wright (above) OHS defeated Cuba 6-2 in the varsity contest before playing to a 9-9 tie in the junior varsity game. Falling to Rolla (4-0), Northwest (19-2) and Fort Zumwalt North (19-6) last Friday at the Rolla Tournament, Owensville will open MSHSAA Class 3, District 2 tournament action today (Wednesday) in Sullivan at 6 p.m., against St. James.
